Announcement from the Chief of Police
Our Student Code of Conduct requires the use of respectful language by all students. While this is not new, we are implementing new procedures beginning this school year. If a student receives a disciplinary referral for using profanity in a disrepectful, defiant, or threatening manner, CCISD police officers will be issuing citations for a Class C Misdemeanor starting August 24th. All staff will be addressing inappropriate language.

Students, if you have shot records for the school nurse, please make sure you deliver them to her.
Spinal screenings for all 6th grade boys and girls through P.E. Classes on October 13th.
State mandated Vision/hearing screenings will be conducted on all 7th graders on October 14th.
OPTIONAL FLEXIBLE YEAR PROGRAM
The CCISD 3-Tier Student Success Incentive (SSI) is a unique program ensuring success for all students in our district. The program takes into account successful completion of the state assessment and current promotion standards and offers an early end-of-school date, May 20, 2011, for those meeting all standards. Classes will continue through June 2, 2011 with small group instruction in an effort to further assist students in meeting the promotion standards. Those students who have not met promotion standards after June 2, 2011 may be required to attend summer school.

 Dear Dolphin Parents and Students:
Welcome to a new school year! The 2009-2010 was a great year for Kaffie, as we are a RECOGNIZED campus! We wish to applaud the fantastic work of our awesome students, teachers and support staff who are dedicated to the success of each child! We are looking forward to another outstanding year in 2010-2011.
Our first day of school is August 23, 2010. A new school year is always exciting. Our continued focus is on providing each child with new challenges in their classrooms, labs, fields, courts, and stages. Our teachers will provide engaging lessons that will result in a deep level of learning in a rewarding environment.
The beginning of the school year is just around the corner. On the first day, all 7th grade students will pick up their schedules in the cafeteria and our 8th grade students will locate their schedules in the gymnasium. If you are a 6th grade student and did not attend Dolphin Camp, you will pick your schedule up in the Guidance Center, located in the middle of Kaffie.
As we begin this year, please remember that Kaffie is your school and we welcome your involvement. Mark your calendars, our first PTA meeting and Open House will be held on Thursday, September 23rd. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call. I look forward to working with you and your child throughout the school year to provide a productive and safe learning environment that supports their success.
